Jenga Kijiji™
Building Community Through African Wisdom and Global Learning
Jenga Kijiji™ is a year-long Community and Belonging curriculum that uses African philosophies, storytelling, and global perspectives to help students understand who they are, how they belong, and what it means to build community together.
Designed for schools and adaptable across grade levels, the curriculum transforms belonging from an occasional initiative into a sustained learning journey woven throughout the school year.
African Philosophies, Global Questions
Jenga Kijiji™ does not present African ideas as occasional cultural content. It uses them as intellectual lenses through which students examine universal questions of identity, community, responsibility, and change.
Ubuntu
Shared Humanity
Ubuntu teaches that our humanity is shaped through our relationships with others. Students connect this philosophy to empathy, belonging, human dignity, and global citizenship.
Ujamaa
Collective Responsibility
Ujamaa emphasizes cooperation, shared responsibility, and building communities in which everyone can contribute and thrive. Students connect it to collaboration, service, equity, and the common good.
Sankofa
Learning From the Past
Sankofa teaches us to return to the past, retrieve what is valuable, and carry it forward. Students connect history, heritage, memory, and identity to the choices they make for the future.
